The commit 0a781dd675 changes the docker examples to use `if..elif..else`
it is working fine tor the `with-docker` example, but not working for the `with-docker-compose` and `with-docker-multi-env` examples due to a missing semicolon.

This relates to a bug from issue #38957 found inside of the `with-cypress` example as a result of the recent typescript conversion. This issue can be resolved with adding `export {};` which prevents TypeScript from reading `.ts` configuration files from being read as legacy script files. This issue has been resolved on StackOverflow [here](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/56577201/why-is-isolatedmodules-error-fixed-by-any-import). More info on `--isolatedModules` can be read [here](https://www.typescriptlang.org/tsconfig#isolatedModules).

Ignoring files in `convex/_generated/` was a mistake: it's not the currently recommended workflow. Developers should be able to deploy just their frontend without deploying the most recent backend functions at the same time (which would regenerate these files). With this change, a default deploy to Vercel will no longer fail.

I added ` *.tsbuildinfo` to gitignores of examples that use typescript and don't already have it. By use typescript I mean have `tsconfig` somewhere in their directory tree.
I used the following script to update the files:
```bash
#!/bin/bash
set -eou pipefail
cd examples
examples=`git ls-files . | grep tsconfig | xargs dirname | grep -v "/"`
for example in $examples; do
if ! grep -q tsbuildinfo $example/.gitignore; then
gitignore="$example/.gitignore"
echo $gitignore
tail -c1 $gitignore | read -r _ || echo >> $gitignore
echo -e "\n# typescript\n*.tsbuildinfo" >> $gitignore
fi
done
```

When triaging bug reports, we would like to make sure that our main focus is on unresolved issues. Next.js is a highly active project, and we cut new releases fairly often, under the `next@canary` tag. Some of the issues being reported might have already been fixed there, so we would like to encourage people to check them out. Once a fix is in `canary`, it will be included in the next `latest` release automatically.

This ensures we expose the `styled-jsx` types correctly even when the package is not hoisted from next's `node_modules` e.g. when using `pnpm`. We had an existing test that covered this although it installed `styled-jsx` at the top-level as a workaround so the test has been updated to remove this workaround.

Converted AMP example over to TypeScript to match the Contribution guidelines, updated all dependencies, and made some necessary changes to allow AMP apps to build in TypeScript.
I added an additional .d.ts file, and referenced it in the tsconfig.json include array, as per the [Next.js docs](https://nextjs.org/docs/basic-features/typescript#existing-projects). These additional types are required to allow lowercase AMP elements to be a property on JSX.IntrinsicElements.
Fixes:
> Property 'amp-img' does not exist on type 'JSX.IntrinsicElements'.ts
I also replaced all occurrences of styled JSX with [@ijjk's workaround](https://github.com/vercel/next.js/issues/7584#issuecomment-503376412) to get styles in the head at build time for AMP-only pages, hybrid AMP pages, and normal pages (non-AMP).
I tried using the useAmp hook first with multiple `<style jsx>` like this [Next.js discussion](https://github.com/vercel/next.js/discussions/16755), however AMP expects a [single `<style amp-custom>` tag in the head](https://amp.dev/documentation/guides-and-tutorials/learn/spec/amphtml/#stylesheets).
Fixes:
> The parent tag of tag 'style amp-custom' is 'body', but it can only be 'head'

`with-docker-compose` contains everything needed to get Next.js up and running with Docker Compose.
This example aims to provide an easy-to-use, Next.js app development and production environment, **all without Node.js being installed** on the host machine. This ensures a consistent development environment across Windows, MacOS, and Linux teams.
I was inspired to create this, because the existing [with-docker](https://github.com/vercel/next.js/tree/canary/examples/with-docker) example only uses Docker to build the final production artifacts, not provide a development environment. Docker Compose easily syncs changes with containers for Hot Reloading, parallel builds, and networking, making it a powerful and consistent development tool.
Developers can **easily extend this example** by modifying the YAML files to include Nginx, Postgres, and other Docker images.
This example takes advantage of Docker multistage builds combined with the Next 12.1 [Output Standalone](https://nextjs.org/docs/advanced-features/output-file-tracing#automatically-copying-traced-files-experimental) feature, to create up to **80% smaller apps** (Approximately 110 MB compared to 1 GB with create-next-app). I also included an example without multistage builds, for developers who don't want to get into the weeds.
I have been tweaking this Docker Compose setup over 3 years of real world use, but please let me know if anything can be improved.
The Contributing guidelines say TypeScript should be leveraged for new examples, so I thought I'd convert this example over.
I also:
- Upgraded all dependencies
- Replaced the `prop-types` package with TypeScript types

* Updates the `cms-kontent` example `Image` component to implement the
suggested improvements from @styfle in #37188.
* Simplifies the Kontent loader host checking.
* Reduces the default image quality to from `100` to `75`.
* Add `tslib` dependency to fix `Module not found: Can't resolve 'tslib'`
error when importing `transformImageUrl` in the `Image` component.
It looks like this might be a bug in v11 of the Kontent Delivery SDK,
as it appears `tslib` needs to be included as dependency, rather than
dev dependency. I missed this originally as the example runs fine in
the Next repo as the root `yarn.lock` has `tslib`. It's only when the
example is used via `yarn create next-app` that the issue occurs. We
can likely remove this in future alongside an upgrade to the SDK
package once this issue has been fixed and released there.
https://github.com/vercel/next.js/pull/37188
* Updates the Kontent Delivery SDK from v9 to v11.
* Updates the `lib/api.js` code that utilises the SDK accordingly.
* Removes `rxjs` as this is no longer a dependency of the Kontent
Delivery SDK in v11.
* Updates other packages to the latest versions, including `react`.

- [x] Make sure the linting passes by running `yarn lint`
Improve the Next.js with TypeScript + GraphQL example:
- [x] use GraphQL Code Generator instead of `graphql-let`: more widespread tool and smaller bundle size (types only generation vs code generation)
- [x] use GraphQL Yoga instead of Apollo Server Micro: for lighter bundle size as [stated here](https://github.com/vercel/next.js/pull/36155)
- [x] introduces GraphQL Code Generator on the API side for Resolvers typing
Co-authored-by: JJ Kasper <22380829+ijjk@users.noreply.github.com>
GraphQL Yoga provides a more extensible experience ([Envelop plugins](https://envelop.dev/)) and lighter bundle than the previously showcased `apollo-server-micro` ([64.5kB](https://bundlephobia.com/package/@graphql-yoga/node@2.2.1) vs [196.2kB](https://bundlephobia.com/package/apollo-server-micro@3.6.7) - min & GZiped)
Similar to Next.js, GraphQL Yoga comes with strong defaults and out-of-the-box support for modern GraphQL features (File uploads, subscriptions, and more).
Strong of many years of existence and a large community, GraphQL Yoga 2.0 comes with Next.js support with no additional package or configuration 📦

~⚠️ I lazily created this PR from Github directly as I don't have a local build of next.js on my current machine.
If ever linting does not pass, I will update this later today (sorry for the noise).
EDIT: it does not, I will update this PR shortly.~
Windows users cannot use the `rm` and `touch` commands. So I replaced it with `rimraf` and `touch` package.

Hi, this signature confused me a bit when I was porting it in typescript. Turns out there's dead code: there's no Error object passed to this function. Details of this signature are in this answer: https://stackoverflow.com/a/56291567/2123547, and in `@types/express-server-static-core` it is `listen(port: number, callback?: () => void): http.Server;`. The [with-facebook-pixel](https://github.com/vercel/next.js/tree/canary/examples/with-facebook-pixel) example attempts to run the <Script /> loading the Facebook Pixel on every request. This results in a warning stating `[Meta Pixel] - Duplicate Pixel ID: xxx`. According to the Next.js docs, by using an [id on the inline script](https://nextjs.org/docs/basic-features/script#inline-scripts) Next is able to track and optimize the script. Since this is absent on the present example, the inline script is continuously loaded on every request.
I've added an id to this inline script, and the warning from facebook is no longer present.

There were a few issues with the scripts in the Electron examples:
* `dist` and `pack-app` would fail without a `name` and `version` in `package.json`.
* `type-check` didn't work because there isn't a `tsconfig.json` at the root. It needs to look in the `electron-src` and `renderer` folders respectively.
`electron-builder` also needed to be updated in order to run on macOS 12.3+ (see https://github.com/electron-userland/electron-builder/issues/6606).

This PR updates the docs and examples for `create-next-app` to include pnpm usage.
The following script was used to update every example README:
```js
const fs = require('fs')
const examples = fs.readdirSync('./examples')
for (let example of examples) {
const filename = `./examples/${example}/README.md`
const markdown = fs.readFileSync(filename, 'utf8')
const regex = new RegExp(`^yarn create next-app --example (.*)$`, 'gm')
const output = markdown.replace(regex, (yarn, group) => {
const pnpm = `pnpm create next-app -- --example ${group}`
return `${yarn}\n# or\n${pnpm}`
})
fs.writeFileSync(filename, output)
}
```
.substr() is deprecated so we replace it with .slice() which works similarily but isn't deprecated

Realized the current example was not only out of date, but the demo was broken. Will update the demo site post-merge here 👍
With the recent push to get the examples in TypeScript, I thought I'd convert this `with-redis` example over.

## Description
According to `Next.js` useRouter documentation:
- `asPath`: The path (including the query) shown in the browser without the configured basePath or locale.
- `pathname`: Current route. That is the path of the page in /pages, the configured basePath or locale is not included.
`asPath` should not be used as the props of components. There are many cases that `asPath` not working as expected. For example:
- `asPath` is different on server-side and client-side.
- `asPath` can contains `id` and `query`.
## Suggestion
- Warning the use of `asPath` can lead to the conflict of client and server-side.
- Update `useRouter` document.

Fixes: https://github.com/vercel/next.js/issues/34016
Fixes: https://github.com/vercel/next.js/issues/34197
## Description
This year we implemented the new Apollo config using this example. We recently moved to `getServerSideProps` as well, however, this was giving us some cache problems. The issue was that the cache was older than the actual data that was coming from the server side query.
Because the `merge` of the cache in `apolloClient.js` is merging the existingCache in the initialState it will overwrite the "fresh" initialState with properties that already exists. This means that if you have something in your cache from previous client render, for example `user` with the value `null`, and you go to a new page and do a new query on the server which returns a value for the `user` field, it will still return `null` because of that `merge` function.
Since this was weird in our opinion, we've changed this in our own environment by always overwriting the existing cache with the new initialState, so that the initialState that is coming from a fresh server side query is overwriting. We thought it was a good idea to reflect this also in this example, because we couldn't think of a reason why the existing cache should overwrite fresh queries.
I've added a reproduction that shows what this is exactly about. I hope my description makes sense, let me know what you think!
## Reproduction of old scenario
Created a reproduction branch here: https://github.com/glenngijsberts/with-apollo-example. Using a different API than in the example, because of https://github.com/vercel/next.js/issues/32731.
1. checkout the example
2. yarn
3. yarn dev
4. visit http://localhost:3000/client-only
5. Hit "Update name". This will run a mutation that will update the cache automatically. Because I use a mocked API, the actual value on the API won't be updated, but this is actually the perfect scenario for the problem because in reality data can already change in the meantime when you're doing a new request.
6. Go to the SSR page
7. This will display two values: one is coming from the server side request (which is the latest data, because no cache is used in `getServerSideProps`) and the other is using the cache, which is outdated at that point, yet it's still returned because the old way of merging the cache was picking the existing cache over the initialState that was coming from the fresh server side query.

## Bug
- Partially fixes#25854
- Badly specified package dependency version (`graphql-let`). The new major version required manual migration. As specified [here](https://github.com/piglovesyou/graphql-let/releases/tag/v0.18.0).
- In `lib/resolvers.ts`
```Module '"*.graphqls"' has no exported member 'MutationResolvers'. Did you mean to use 'import MutationResolvers from "*.graphqls"' instead?ts(2614)```
## Fixes
- Migrate as described in migration guide for `graphql-let` above.
- Update some npm packages along the way.
- use the nextv12 example from the storybook-addon-next repo as the with-storybook example found here: 6583c20803/examples/nextv12
- update the readme for the example to include details on what the example includes
- tweak the example from the `storybook-addon-next` repo to work with type checking and linting
* Fix ambiguous flags in Dockerfile example
At least with Docker xx this Dockerfile fails to both `adduser` and `addgroup` commands due to ambiguous flags. The error message for example for `addgroup` is:
```
#5 0.292 Option g is ambiguous (gecos, gid, group)
#5 0.292 Option s is ambiguous (shell, system)
```
This PR switches both commands to use the long-format flags. I think they are also more understandable for the readers of the Dockerfile.
## Context
Having 3 environments:
- Development: for doing testing
- Staging: for doing UAT testing
- Production: for users
In each environment, the Next.js application makes API calls to the corresponding API gateway:
- Development: https://api-development.com
- Staging: https://api-staging.com
- Production: https://api-production.com
Using `NEXT_PUBLIC_API_URL` for the `baseUrl` of [axios](https://axios-http.com/docs/intro).
Since the `NEXT_PUBLIC_API_URL` is replaced during _build time_, we have to manage to provide the corresponding `.env.production` files for Docker at _build time_ for each environment.
## Solution
Since we are using CI services for dockerization, we could setup the CI to inject the correct `.env.production` file into the cloned source code, (this is actually what we did). Doing that would require us to touch the CI settings.
Another way is using multiple Dockerfile (the former only need to use one Dockerfile), and the trick is copying the corresponding `env*.sample` and rename it to `.env.production` then putting it into the Docker context. Doing this way, everything is managed in the source code.
```
> Dockerfile
# Development environment
COPY .env.development.sample .env.production
# Staging environment
COPY .env.staging.sample .env.production
# Production environment
COPY .env.production.sample .env.production
```
Testing these images locally is also simple, by issuing the corresponding Makefile commands we can simulate exactly how the image will be built in the CI environment.
## How to use
For development environment:
```
make build-development
make start-development
```
For staging environment:
```
make build-staging
make start-staging
```
For production environment:
```
make build-production
make start-production
```
## Conclusion
This example shows one way to solve the three-environment model in software development when building a Next.js application. There might be another better way and I would love to know about them as well.
I'm making this example because I can't find any example about this kind of problem.
I'm getting this warning when running `yarn lint` on the local:
![Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 23 45 57](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/38455472/152651090-be515630-591a-4602-8bd7-eda71174dfda.png)
After a quick check, it is caused by the `tailwindConfig` option in the `prettier.config.js` file, added in PR #33614
I guess the reason is because the workspace does not install that plugin.
We can safely remove that option in the example, because it's already [the default location](https://github.com/tailwindlabs/prettier-plugin-tailwindcss):
> By default the plugin will look for this file in the same directory as your Prettier configuration file. However, if your Tailwind configuration is somewhere else, you can specify this using the tailwindConfig option in your Prettier configuration.
![Screen Shot 2022-02-06 at 00 12 24](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/38455472/152651623-86655e80-e8d0-45b1-968c-81b7beed48ea.png)
The warning is gone after removing that option.
Updates all CMS updates to use:
- Tailwind 3 (and the corresponding `tailwind.config.js` and PostCSS changes)
- `remark@14` and `remark-html@15` (and the corresponding ESM breaking changes)
- `date-fns` minor bump
Ensured all CMS examples were:
- Using `next/image`
- Not using `as` for `next/link` (no longer needed)
Hi! Dev Rel from Contentful here. We noticed that the Contentful example was giving a graphQL complexity error so adding in some validations to the content model that is imported to prevent the error from showing up.
1. You can now add images to the rich text post of the example and see those images show up in the app. This is a good jumping off point for people who are learning how to customize the rich text renderers by adding custom components to the mapper.
2. Updating the README pictures to have a more up-to-date UI in the screenshots.
- The existing locals folder is using a redundant string structure which continuously repeats "Change language to " in separate instances in separate languages alongside separate language translations.
- This PR is a simple refactor to extract "change language to" to it's own string, and references already existing strings defining the language translation.
## Why they might be helpful
- A user looking to implement this pattern should consider reducing redundancies as early as possible to scale an app, thus I believe it would be helpful for this example.
Notes:
- these original translations were done via google translate
- verified that these strings still make sense and translate properly in every locale / language
- these strings are meant to be examples, translations have not been verified with a translation agency.
Updates with-supertokens example to fix a race condition for initialising the supertokens-node SDK. Earlier we used to do it in _app.js in an async manner, so if `getServerSideProps` is called before the `supertokens.init` is called, the page load would fail.
Now, we call `supertokens.init` (for the node SDK) in the `getServerSideProps` function itself.
Fixes: https://github.com/vercel/next.js/issues/29179
This PR makes two changes:
- It updates the index page to reflect the fact that `withSentry` should now be working for API routes deployed to Vercel.
- It changes the route which returns a promise rejection to be more obvious about the fact that that's what it's doing.
After talking with markerikson, I've made some updates to the Redux examples:
- Updated the `with-redux` example to use the Redux Toolkit + TypeScript example
- Updated dependencies of `with-redux` to work with latest testing setup
- Removed `with-redux-toolkit` in favor of `with-redux`
- Removed `with-redux-toolkit-typescript` in favor of `with-redux`
- Removed `with-redux-code-splitting` in favor of `with-redux`
Updates the `with-google-tag-manager` to use Next.js' Script component with strategy set to `afterInteractive`
CC @janicklas-ralph
Closes: https://github.com/vercel/next.js/issues/26507
I imported a bunch of old markdown posts to the blog-starter example but some of the post metadata was not returned by the API in the example code.
For example, having `published: false` in post metadata was not returned in the item fields.
The problem was in check:
```
if (data[field]) {
items[field] = data[field]
}
```
This rejects all falsy values in addition to fields that are not set. Checking only for `undefined` should fix this issue.
I didn't find existing integration tests for the blog example nor an issue describing this problem.
Earlier it was:
```bash
npx create-next-app --example with-eslint with-eslint
# or
yarn create next-app --example with-eslint with-eslint
```
It was confusing for me,
as i couldn't identify which one is *example-name* and which one is *folder-name* (for *with-eslint*).
I checked other example folders and was able to digest the stuff.
But if a new programmer comes who is not familiar with next/npx,
this could have took some time to understand.
And Hence i modified the cmd it to the below, for better understanding:
```bash
npx create-next-app --example with-eslint with-eslint-app
# or
yarn create next-app --example with-eslint with-eslint-app
```
The with-stitches example is broken presumably due to changes in the Stitches API now that it's hit `1.0.0`. I've created an issue already: #28650
I've made three small changes:
- Replaced the createCss function in `stitcheds.config.js` with createStitches
- Replaced the getCssString function with getCssText in `stitches.config.js` and `pages/_documents.jsx`
- Bumped `@stitches/react` to `^1.0.0` 🎉
I've left the rest of the example code alone as I'm still exploring the library after seeing yesterdays release annoucement.
@peduarte Is there anything else that needs to updated?
The client now warns against missing `apiVersion` ([docs](https://www.sanity.io/docs/api-versioning)). This PR adds the config for using the latest API version. There shouldn't be breaking changes in this app.
* Use recommended pattern in testing example
Since the official linter for testing library, `eslint-plugin-testing-library` recommends using `screen` to write queries, this MR updates the testing library example to follow the pattern recommended by the linter.
> DOM Testing Library (and other Testing Library frameworks built on top of it) exports a screen object which has every query (and a debug method). This works better with autocomplete and makes each test a little simpler to write and maintain.
> This rule aims to force writing tests using built-in queries directly from screen object rather than destructuring them from render result. Given the screen component does not expose utility methods such as rerender() or the container property, it is correct to use the render returned value in those scenarios.
See the `prefer-screen-queries` rules docs for more info: https://github.com/testing-library/eslint-plugin-testing-library/blob/main/docs/rules/prefer-screen-queries.md
Just a small change to recently merged PR; for some reason `import couchbase from 'couchbase'` is not working correctly when I use create-next-app to bootstrap with the `with-couchbase` example, despite initially working within my local next.js directory. This adds a simple `with-couchbase` example app complete with a check for successful connection (in `index.js`).
**Note:** To check the connection, this application runs a simple KV GET operation with a key that does not exist and expects a response of `document not found`. Any other response indicates a failure to connect.
