## History
When we added `priority` prop to `next/image`, there was no
`fetchPriority` so we instead used this to preload the image in the
head.
Then when browsers added support `fetchPriority`, we automatically added
`fetchPriority=high` when `priority={true}` to signal to the browser
that this was a high priority image. This priority is added to the img
and the preload.
However, we saw cases where images are blocking critical css. Per
@gnoff:
> React currently prioritizes font preloads then high priority images,
then css in the initial page load
Due to these changes in React (aka Float), we should no longer set
`fetchPriority=high`, although the user can still manually add that prop
if needed.
...with `assertHasRedbox` and `assertNoRedbox`.
`hasRedbox()` has a hardcoded timeout of 5s that is only required for
the negative assertion.
Instead, we now have dedicated assertions for the positive
(`assertHasRedbox`) and negative case (`assertNoRedbox`).
The negative assertion still has the hardcoded timeout.
But the positive assertion just retries until we find the Redbox.
This speeds up tests using the positive assertion.
Removing `hasRedbox` also uncovered some unused expressions e.g. `await
hasRedbox(browser)`.
These expressions probably wanted to use `expect(await
hasRedbox(browser)).toBe(true)
### What?
Upgrades sharp to the latest version and relies on more of its default
settings (if the default settings are unsuitable, we should consider
improving these for all users in sharp itself).
- The `sequentialRead` setting is now managed for you based on each
input image and the operations to be applied to it.
- The concurrency detection is more accurate than `os.cpus()` as it now
inspects things like CPU set/affinity as well as the memory allocator.
- The (mostly archaic) concept of chroma subsampling is not required for
AVIF output. Using full chroma should improve the quality of red/orange
edges, as well as slightly reducing file size as it allows greater use
of AV1 chroma-from-luma prediction.
In addition, this PR also enables the use of mozjpeg features such as
trellis quantisation to produce smaller file sizes. The use of `mozjpeg:
true` infers `progressive: true`. This aligns JPEG output behaviour with
the previously-used squoosh, which always used mozjpeg.

BREAKING CHANGE:
Using the built-in image optimization API, the URL is parsed with `new
URL()` constructor which automatically trims spaces.
However, the developer may choose a 3rd party image optimization API via
`loader` or `loaderFile` (or perhaps a deployment platform that has its
own built in loader), so we shouldn't assume the API will parse the URL
in the same way as
[WHATWG](https://url.spec.whatwg.org/#:~:text=If%20input%20contains%20any%20leading%20or%20trailing%20C0%20control%20or%20space%2C%20invalid%2DURL%2Dunit%20validation%20error.).
While we could trim on the client, its probably best to fail fast and
let the developer make a conscience decision if a trailing space should
be removed or remain (by explicitly using `%20`).

Follow-up to #63665.
Ensures development tests are skipped during the production build run
for Turbopack (i.e. used to create the turbopack-build-tests-manifest).
Adds `pnpm test-dev-turbo` and `pnpm test-start-turbo` (and their

I really dislike the way `.chain` works right now, it shouldn't mutate
the `BrowserInterface`, this PR changes it so it's just a pure chain
without weird side effects.
One example with the current version (before this PR):

Previously, this error was confusing because it made it sound like the
`sizes` prop was missing. This was because the default value of `sizes`
is `100vw` so the previous code couldn't tell the different between
implicit vs explicit `100vw`.
This PR changes the code to read the input value from the `sizes` prop
and prints a better warning.

## History
Previously, we added support for `squoosh` because it was a wasm
implementation that "just worked" on all platforms when running `next
dev` for the first time. However, it was slow so we always recommended
manually installing `sharp` for production use cases running `next
build` and `next start`.
Now that [`sharp` supports
webassembly](https://sharp.pixelplumbing.com/install#webassembly), we no
longer need to maintain `squoosh`, so it can be removed. We also don't
need to make the user install sharp manually because it can be installed
under `optionalDependencies`. I left it optional in case there was some
platform that still needed to manually install the wasm variant with
`npm install --cpu=wasm32 sharp` such as codesandbox/stackblitz (I don't
believe sharp has any fallback built in yet).
Since we can guarantee `sharp`, we can also remove `get-orientation` dep
and upgrade `image-size` dep.
I also moved an [existing `sharp`
test](https://github.com/vercel/next.js/pull/56674) into its own fixture
since it was unrelated to image optimization.

We used to pass `onLoad` through directly to the underlying img so `onLoadingComplete` was introduced in order to handle the case when `placeholder="blur"` was used and `onLoad` would trigger before the placeholder was removed.
We have since changed the behavior of `onLoad` so that it acts the same as `onLoadingComplete` and therefore `onLoadingComplete` is no longer needed.
## What is this PR doing?
This PR marks `onLoadingComplete` as deprecated in favor of `onLoad`. In the future, we may remove `onLoadingComplete`.
Adds support for base64-encoded `placeholder`. Enables using placeholders without the "blur" effect.

This PR fixes the issue of the `<Image />` "blur" placeholder where the
placeholder image appears "washed out" and feathered around the edges.
The fix does NOT involve any API changes - only the underlying SVG
filter is updated.
The filter works for any image type (JPEG, GIF, WEBP) no matter if it
contains transparency or not.

Currently the underlying filter uses `feComponentTransfer ` to get rid of the feathered edges but only for JPEG images. This is because if alpha channel was to be mapped to 1 for images with transparency in it, all of the transparent pixels would turn black (which is obviously undesirable).
The way I fixed it is by creating a mask from the SourceAlpha (effectively the "shape" of the object in an image), slightly blurring it for a smoother look (feMorphology + feGaussianBlur), and then clipping the `feComponentTransfer` result to the shape of the mask (`<feComposite in2='mask' in='solid' operator='in' result="comp" />`).
Then finally `feMerge` is used to stack original image and the clipping result from the previous step just to make sure that any left over artifacts from clipping are hidden.

## What?
Removes `experimental.appDir` this was leftover from when I flipped the
switch.
Kept the config file as in the future we might add future flags and
such. It also helps that it has the types comment included so you always
get types.

Previously, `next start` was incorrectly trying to optimize an empty `src` prop.
This PR fixes the behavior so that empty `src` will automatically set `unoptimized` (same behavior as data urls).

This ensures we only honor cache entries from the in memory cache for up
to 2 seconds so that revalidates can correctly propagate and also
increases max fetch cache entry size to 2 MB. The `fetchCache` export is
also being detected in this PR but not yet honored which will be done in
a follow-up.
These tests are copy/pasta from existing tests
- from `test/integration/next-image-new/default`
- to `test/integration/next-image-new/app-dir`
There were a handful of changes need to migrate the fixture from `pages` to `app` but the test assertions are the same.
There is one test assertion for preload that wasn't working so its marked as "skip" until it can be fixed in a future PR.
